Summary

Ruthless。 Arrogant。 Ice cold。

Everyone warned me that the CFO of McCord Media was a nightmare to work for。 I knew it going in, but I figured I could keep my head down and stay under Cole McCord’s radar。

I figured wrong。

Because a month before I started as his assistant, Mr。 Ruthless and I spent one scorching hot night together in bed。

In my defense, I had no idea that the gorgeous stranger I hooked up with at my girlfriend’s birthday party would turn out to be my new boss。 But company policy forbids work relationships, so it’s strictly business from now on。

If only we could stop falling into bed together。
If only he didn’t make me feel things I’ve never felt before。
If only he wasn’t keeping a secret that could destroy us both。

A little frustrating at times, but I loved the characters so much it didn’t really matter! I need Carter now!

What a great read! What we learn in the story is that beauty and imperfection go together wonderfully。 Like how Shay and Cole belong together。 Embracing him with warmth。 Loving him without inhibitions and stay to be with him no matter what。 I can't express how much I fall in love with them。 It such a beautiful love story and it's currently my favorite read as of the moment。 My favorite part is this, how you narrate that broken men are somehow ideal, or could be, if only the right woman loved them What a great read! What we learn in the story is that beauty and imperfection go together wonderfully。 Like how Shay and Cole belong together。 Embracing him with warmth。 Loving him without inhibitions and stay to be with him no matter what。 I can't express how much I fall in love with them。 It such a beautiful love story and it's currently my favorite read as of the moment。 My favorite part is this, how you narrate that broken men are somehow ideal, or could be, if only the right woman loved them。 Well as a sucker for romance I always want to be that someone's ideal。 Unputdownable。 What a great read!! 。。。more

Massive fan of this author。 I’ve read almost everything of hers, but this book was a let down unfortunately。 Way too much angst, not enough substance, and definitely didn’t feel like it fit in with the first book of this series。 I ended up skimming most of the climax that led to the final breakup and honestly didn’t feel like I missed much。 I was really looking forward to this one too after Liars came out!

This book was so unexpected and fast paced with no bullshit BS (like Shay would say) and OMG Shay is the most entertaining character I have read in recent times, she gives as good as she takes。。。I can't remember the no of times I crackled like a dying donkey(iykyk) throughout the book ,the words that come out of this woman are down right illegal 🤣🤣, Cole McCord though he was just perfect misunderstood villain and the way he was obsessed with her。。。ahhhhh too cute and this man can do no wrong the This book was so unexpected and fast paced with no bullshit BS (like Shay would say) and OMG Shay is the most entertaining character I have read in recent times, she gives as good as she takes。。。I can't remember the no of times I crackled like a dying donkey(iykyk) throughout the book ,the words that come out of this woman are down right illegal 🤣🤣, Cole McCord though he was just perfect misunderstood villain and the way he was obsessed with her。。。ahhhhh too cute and this man can do no wrong the way he talks to her ,looks at her like she is the beginning and the end of the world ahhh too much。。。。I like this McCord better and Carter seems like trouble when can I read it 。。。more

J。T。 Geissinger does it again。 This is her newest release and it is spicy and keeps you wondering! This was a quick and easy read, that has another strong FMC that has her first one night stand, and laters finds out he’s her new boss with a lot of secrets。 The MMC is very guarded with a lot of secrets to hide, which is understandable, given some of his extra curricular activities are not as widely accepted by most people (excluding the book community, because we all love a morally gray man right J。T。 Geissinger does it again。 This is her newest release and it is spicy and keeps you wondering! Sometimes you go into something blind and it’s great。 This was not one of those times。 Thankfully, the chapters are short and by chapter 3 I knew it was time to check some spoiler reviews。 The hero was condescending AF, while also being so intensely into her it was almost creepy。 Which, you know, would’ve been awesome had he not started talking about his beloved ex who he had to leave for her own good and still loved。 After reading some reviews about where all this goes… a pretty clear DNF for m Sometimes you go into something blind and it’s great。 This was not one of those times。 Thankfully, the chapters are short and by chapter 3 I knew it was time to check some spoiler reviews。 The hero was condescending AF, while also being so intensely into her it was almost creepy。 Which, you know, would’ve been awesome had he not started talking about his beloved ex who he had to leave for her own good and still loved。 After reading some reviews about where all this goes… a pretty clear DNF for me (even the positive reviews talk about how annoying his hot-cold behaviour is, how off-putting her constant chasing after him is, and how rushed the resolution is)。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Cole + Shay 🔥🔥🔥🔥Literally didn’t understand the hot and cold thing Cole did and how Shay didn’t slap the shit out of him but she was one of the better heroines I’ve encountered lately。 She ended up CFO hell yeah and can we talk about Killian Black showing up in this book? I miss him, might have to reread that one。Are we getting an Axel book next? I think Coles younger brother will annoy me to death。 Here’s hoping a lead can fix that!

It was fine。 I didn’t feel particularly invested in the story but I suppose it wasn’t a total chore to get through either。 I’d say it was low tension and low angst。 I wish there had been more build up and tension with their dynamic。 He kept saying they couldn’t be together and then the very next chapter they’d be back together。 And I hate when the FMC takes the MMC back immediately。 Idk the more I write this review they more I realize that this story really fell short for me。

I knew I'd love Cole's book more than Callum's。 It was fun reading this book that I highlighted almost every banters between Cole and Shay。 There are small icks I found like the fact that Cole said he was still in love with his last ex-girlfriend when he first met Shay。 And I think I'm just probably consfused but by the middle of the book it felt like they were broken up for years already and not recently just like what I assumed。 Anyway。 It's a good thing that the ex is not an issue。I liked how I knew I'd love Cole's book more than Callum's。 It was fun reading this book that I highlighted almost every banters between Cole and Shay。 There are small icks I found like the fact that Cole said he was still in love with his last ex-girlfriend when he first met Shay。 And I think I'm just probably consfused but by the middle of the book it felt like they were broken up for years already and not recently just like what I assumed。 Anyway。 It's a good thing that the ex is not an issue。I liked how persistent Shay can be。 I admire that about her although people found that annoying。 I'd love to be her friend irl even though I think my social energy will be gone after an hour of spending time with her lol。 Also I like reading the part when Cole started to be obsessed with her while trying to refuse to believe that they are actually in a relationship (or situationship) and eventually just gave in。 It's also nice to see Emery and Killian again (his book is on my TBR and I'll read them soon, hopefully)!A bit disappointed that the ending felt a bit rushed though。 Or I think it's probably just me wanting to read more of them。 Still, I'm looking forward to read Carter's book! 。。。more

The Best! Oh my。。。 this was simply the best book ever! Cole is such an amazing character, and Shay is such a strong and confidently kind woman。 Every chapter of this book had me itching for the next and I'm sad to see it end。。。 Hopefully, I'll see more of these two again。 The Best! The first 18 chapters。。。 and that's where I stopped it。 For fuck's sake, it started out so promising。 SO PROMISING。 The banter was chef's kiss。 Right before that quickly turned into an intolerable disaster。I hate when this happens。 There was so much。。。 sooooooo much push from the ML to not have this one night stand because he wasn't a "good" guy。 But our FL fought back, wanting this。 For the first few times, that shiz was cute, maybe hot。 But for the next twenty times (and I am only slightly exa The first 18 chapters。。。 and that's where I stopped it。 For fuck's sake, it started out so promising。 SO PROMISING。 The banter was chef's kiss。 Right before that quickly turned into an intolerable disaster。I hate when this happens。 There was so much。。。 sooooooo much push from the ML to not have this one night stand because he wasn't a "good" guy。 But our FL fought back, wanting this。 For the first few times, that shiz was cute, maybe hot。 But for the next twenty times (and I am only slightly exaggerating), it was a massive turn off。 But I pulled through too。 Like the FL, I wanted this。And then the long drawn sex starts。 Good for the FL。 Bad for the reader。 Do I want to know every single thing that happened during their intercourse? NO。 While they kept talking and talking and being goofs? NO。 And then I don’t even know what the hell they kept talking about, because words and sentences kept falling out of their mouth to add humor, or tacky banter? Hell to the NO。 Again, I skipped ahead。 Maybe ignoring them a couple of pages to the post bliss would work。 And then I understood it wasn't only the the ML I had problems with。 The FL was equally annoying。 So was the writing。Okay I am done。I am going to pick this up some other time。 Maybe。 Don't count on it。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this one, but it wasn't entirely what I expected。 I was expecting an off the walls bonkers hero, and while Cole wasn't entirely in his right mind, he was a saint compared to his brother。While, I was definitely missing some of the insanity from book one, Shay and Cole were perfect for each other。 This would have been a 5 stars for me if Cole pushed Shay away at least 50% less lol。 I really enjoyed this one, but it wasn't entirely what I expected。 I was expecting an off the walls bonkers hero, and while Cole wasn't entirely in his right mind, he was a saint compared to his brother。While, I was definitely missing some of the insanity from book one, Shay and Cole were perfect for each other。 This would have been a 5 stars for me if Cole pushed Shay away at least 50% less lol。 。。。more

I was swept into a whirlwind romance between Shay and Cole, the enigmatic CEO。 I fell for their sizzling chemistry and the tension of their forbidden love。 Despite his resistance, Shay's determination to pursue Cole kept me turning the pages。 The story's intensity was undeniable, with passion leaping off the pages, but the rushed ending left me wanting more closure。 The book skillfully tackled complex issues like addiction and mental health, adding depth to the characters。 This was a rollercoast I was swept into a whirlwind romance between Shay and Cole, the enigmatic CEO。 I fell for their sizzling chemistry and the tension of their forbidden love。 Despite his resistance, Shay's determination to pursue Cole kept me turning the pages。 The story's intensity was undeniable, with passion leaping off the pages, but the rushed ending left me wanting more closure。 The book skillfully tackled complex issues like addiction and mental health, adding depth to the characters。 This was a rollercoaster of emotions, blending romance, suspense, and drama, making it a captivating read。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book。 I expected a little more of book 1 with the way Callum was, but Cole is not Callum in many ways。 Cole and Shay were so good together but things were hot and cold a lot。 I definitely cried more than I expected in this one but I am a sucker for a little angst and disaster。 Did not see the twist coming but in the end it worked out as it should。 I devoured this book just like book 1。 Curious to see if we'll get Carter's story。 At this point I am not a fan of him! lol I really enjoyed this book。 I expected a little more of book 1 with the way Callum was, but Cole is not Callum in many ways。 Cole and Shay were so good together but things were hot and cold a lot。 I definitely cried more than I expected in this one but I am a sucker for a little angst and disaster。 Did not see the twist coming but in the end it worked out as it should。 I devoured this book just like book 1。 Curious to see if we'll get Carter's story。 At this point I am not a fan of him! lol 。。。more

Move over, Callum。 Okay, don't, I have enough love for both of these delicious McCord men。Cole and Shay are two empty souls with tender, full hearts。 If that makes any sense。 They spend the best one-night-stand together but no personal information is shared and that's that。 Until Shay decides to take on a challenging new job as the assistant of CFO of a media company but doesn't meet her new boss until her first day on the job。 Yes, it's Cole。The connection is still there but Cole is hell-bent o Move over, Callum。 Okay, don't, I have enough love for both of these delicious McCord men。Cole and Shay are two empty souls with tender, full hearts。 If that makes any sense。 They spend the best one-night-stand together but no personal information is shared and that's that。 Until Shay decides to take on a challenging new job as the assistant of CFO of a media company but doesn't meet her new boss until her first day on the job。 Yes, it's Cole。The connection is still there but Cole is hell-bent on not having a relationship, even though he's obsessed with Shay。 The enigmatic, closed-off CFO has some dark secrets about how he spends his nights when he's not in a suit。 He's stubborn and hard-headed, but so is she。The first story fit the 'morally gray' title a lot more, but I loved this book just as much。 Shay and Cole's dark, sarcastic humor and hilarious banter cracked me up and the sexual tension between them was crazy。 。。。more

Gave it 5 stars bcs I love an mmc who's in touch with his emotions and inner life。 Now as far as actions go, i dont expect them to be perfect, but he was near perfect all the time。I love the fmc just as much: shay is an established, resilient, funny woman, and I found parts of myself and each of my friends in her。 She's real。The writing is nice too; I've been reading J。T Geissinger for years now and I trust her each time Gave it 5 stars bcs I love an mmc who's in touch with his emotions and inner life。 Now as far as actions go, i dont expect them to be perfect, but he was near perfect all the time。I love the fmc just as much: shay is an established, resilient, funny woman, and I found parts of myself and each of my friends in her。 She's real。The writing is nice too; I've been reading J。T Geissinger for years now and I trust her each time 。。。more
